Watch Out for Compatibility! Not Every Gaming Headset Is Multiplatform
Heads up: Not every gaming headset works on every platform – while 3.5 mm jack plugs generally work universally on PS5, Xbox, Switch and PC, USB or wireless models are often compatible only with certain consoles (e.g., “Xbox Wireless” on Xbox, class-compliant USB on PlayStation), and Bluetooth connections aren’t supported everywhere.

It feels a little wrong to include this product in the list, BUT:
For our test, we actually only wanted to get hold of a below-average Chinese headset for comparison, and suddenly it surprises us: The microphone sounds better than the ones on the expensive headsets.. What is going on here?!
And indeed: This may be “Chinese junk” but, oddly enough, not a bad one. Because even if the headphones aren’t super comfortable or the build quality isn’t high-end, the value for money is actually unbeatable. That’s of course also down to the price, but a <€20 headset doesn’t hurt when it’s only mediocre.
If you want a comfortable, high-quality gaming headset, then of course you should spend more money. In the YouTube video above you can see the comparison, which also features the Ozeino.

The most affordable and also the cheapest-made product we can recommend for long-term use. With this gaming headset you won’t win the award for the best team chat or the best listening quality, but honestly: For the price, it does its job.
If your budget doesn’t stretch any further or you don’t have high demands for listening quality or microphone quality, this headset could be your solution. However, expect no super high-quality materials or unbeatable wearing comfort.

The Logitech G432 is clearly aimed at beginners, but it’s also very successful at it: On Amazon it’s ranked No. 1 in the Gaming Headsets category. It offers a surprising amount for the price: Among other things, 7.1 surround sound via the Logitech software, but only on PC. The sound is okay overall, but not finely resolved or especially spacious. The microphone also sounds rather tinny and just barely does the job for voice chat.
Workmanship and materials feel cheap; the faux leather pads are soft, but some people criticize the comfort. Anyone who really has to save money gets a functional overall package here, but no sonic revelation.

The ear pads are comfortable, the design is understated, and the microphone is detachable. For PC, an external sound card is included, which also delivers 7.1 surround sound. Comfortable, affordable and good.

With the USB dongle, low-latency transmission is ensured. There are RGB lights, which are somewhat less conspicuous.
At first, the angular ear pads may look a bit unfamiliar, but they don’t bother you at all when wearing them; in fact, the shape seems to be more ergonomic. Ideal for long gaming sessions!

Turtle Beach Stealth 600 (3rd Gen)

Sony Inzone H9 II - THE Premium Headset
The Sony H9 II is a headset with noise cancelling from Sony’s INZONE product line, which specifically includes gaming accessories. The INZONE products were developed in collaboration with the professional shooter players (e.g., Valorant, Apex Legends) of the Fnatic clan and are therefore especially suited to FPS games.
The H9 II is an outstanding wireless gaming headset that sits in the upper price segment, but with many well-thought-out features is also worth its price. You can tell the H9 II was developed in collaboration with shooter players, and this is where it can shine in particular. PlayStation players benefit less; here you might be better off reaching for the older model or a cheaper alternative.

Gaming in the Highest Audio Quality - Comfort Matters!
The quality of the audio signal moves completely into the background if the headphones don’t fit your ears. There’s a reason there are so many different models from manufacturers. You should definitely pay attention to the comfort of your reference headphones too, because if you can only wear them for 15 minutes while mixing because they sit uncomfortably, you gain no advantage. Even if you want to buy high-quality gaming headphones, they should really fit well. There’s often a 30-day return policy. So buy the model you want most and then decide (based on wearing comfort) whether you want to keep it.
Connection: USB, Bluetooth, Cable?
If you mainly depend on precise sound without delay in competitive gaming, you’re usually better off with a wired headset. Even though there are now very high-quality wireless models, Bluetooth headsets always come with a certain latency in gaming – often around 200–250 ms, which quickly becomes a problem with shooters or music games.
If you want to play wirelessly, you should therefore definitely go for headsets that transmit via a dedicated 2.4 GHz dongle. This connection is much more stable and delivers nearly latency-free audio transmission, in some cases under 20 ms – a big difference from Bluetooth.
For particularly sensitive games like rhythm games or competitive shooters, though, a cable remains the safest choice. But if you can’t stand cable clutter anymore, the right wireless headsets give you a solid and nearly equivalent alternative. Provided they don’t run over Bluetooth.
The Best Gaming Headset Is the One That Fits Your Requirements.
Especially with gaming the wearing comfort is crucial, particularly in long sessions. A good headset shouldn’t press or get warm even after several hours. Many over-ear models in gaming are now well thought out when it comes to padding, weight and materials.
What matters, though: What’s comfortable is subjective. That’s why it’s worth trying different models – especially if you’re sensitive to pressure on your head or ears.
